Rena Pederson, author of The King of Diamonds: The Search for the Elusive Texas Jewel Thief, will present her book at “A Diamond Date” on Tuesday, October 15 at the Dallas Museum of Art.
Her book was released in April 2024, detailing a string of high-profile heists in 1960s Dallas.
The event is benefitting the Friends of the Dallas Public Library, as they gear up for their 75th anniversary celebration.
“What better way to kick off a diamond anniversary than with the story of a diamond thief?” Pederson said. “I’m honored to help celebrate the 75 years of service by the Friends of the Dallas Public Library. I could not have completed my research if it had not been for the terrific library staff. The DPL is the city’s real treasure.”
“We are especially thrilled to feature Rena Pederson and The King of Diamonds as we chart toward celebrating the Friends of the Dallas Public Library’s 75th anniversary in 2025,” Mary Wilonsky, Executive Director of Friends of the Dallas Public Library added. “This event highlights the importance of the Dallas Public Library as a cornerstone of our community and the funds raised will allow us to continue supporting its vital programs that promote literacy and education across our city.”
Tickets for the event are limited, going for $200 per person with sponsorship packages beginning at $375. They’re available for purchase here.
