Natasha Potts, 35, and Greg Schmutz, 39, first hit it off over a crossword puzzle on the flight back from a February 2024 work trip to Baltimore. Exactly 11 months later, the couple got engaged with a proposal that took place in the very same spot their relationship began: Dallas Love Field Airport.
According to a Jan. 14 statement from the airport, DAL staff helped Schmutz pull off the proposal. They set up a draped archway featuring a lighted sign reading, “Will you marry me?” The proposal fittingly took place at the airport’s Love Landing, a pre-security waiting area.

After saying “Yes!” to the big question, Potts told DAL staff, “I’m happy because I know I found my partner in crime, my happy ever after.”
Potts and Schmutz both work for Southwest Airlines’ ground operations department. Though a work trip is what first jump started their relationship, the couple was flying into DAL from Baltimore on Wednesday, Jan. 7 so Potts and her two sons could meet Schmutz’s family.
Schmutz said, “It was so perfect for it to be on the same trip, on the same day, where we met exactly 11 months ago.”
