Shoppers at Preston Royal Village will soon be able to enjoy one of DFW’s favorite sweet treats. JD’s Chippery, a family owned and operated bakery, will be opening a new location in Preston Royal Village, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The Broad family opened JD’s Chippery in 1983 at the Snider Plaza location it is still in today. Though the bakery once operated three locations, two of them closed in the 1980s.

Since then, JD’s Chippery has become a fan favorite, with social media popularity causing the bakery to max out the amount of cookies the Snider Plaza location can produce.

Not only will the Preston Royal Village location allow JD’s Chippery to keep up with the growing demand, but the new store will have a small seating area, which the current walk-up shop in Snider Plaza does not.

Though an official opening date has not been announced, the store is expected to open in March.
