Patrons at NorthPark Center had their shopping experience interrupted on Wednesday when water began gushing out of a sprinkler head.

The sprinkler system was set off not by a fire but by the opposite. According to Dallas Fire-Rescue, the extreme cold weather the area has experienced in the past couple of days caused the sprinkler system to fail.
Dallas Fire-Rescue was called to the scene around 4:45 and has since put the mall on a “Fire Watch” until the sprinkler system is back in working order.
The leak caused minor flooding, but the mall has yet to announce if it caused any permanent damage or affected any businesses.
