The Trust for Public Land unveiled the design for the new park being planned at 3728 High Vista Drive in District 13.

The park is part of the Trust for Public Land’s Dallas Greening Initiative. The program aims to increase park access for Dallas residents and increase the number of locals that have a park within a 10-minute walk.

The project targets unused city-owned land for park development. The overall goal is for a new park to be opened in each of the city’s 14 council districts.

The park at High Vista Drive is part of the initiative’s first phase, in which parks are being planned in District 5, 8, 9, 10 and 13. It will be developed on a future library site and will be open to the public.

The plans for the District 13 park were based on community feedback and include a playground area, picnic area, butterfly garden and native seeding area.
