If you want to cook with the kiddos without messing up your own kitchen, Sur la Table is offering a kid-friendly class this Saturday at 4 p.m. Kids 6 and older (and their parents) are invited to come learn how to make fried mozzarella cheese sticks; grilled apple, brie and turkey paninis; black bean chili; and red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting.

Or, if you’d rather tackle the whole cooking thing sans kids, check out Central Market. Johnny Carino (yes, the one who started the restaurant) will teach folks how to cook penne pasta with crab, roasted peppers and gorgonzola; sautéed pork cutlets with ratatouille; and Italian warm bread pudding with brandy sauce.
