I’ve just returned from The Hockaday School, where students from Hockaday, Episcopal School of Dallas, Greenhill Academy, St. Mark’s, Jesuit and Ursuline are on campus learning how to live more environmentally friendly lifestyles at the “Keen on Green” environmental fair.
The fair included a fashion show of vintage and reused prom formal wear, a “green spa,” with environmentally conscious face and body products, a car show of hybrids and other high gas mileage vehicles, as well as information booths.
Sponsors Whole Foods and Current Energy were also on hand with food and energy efficient products. One of my favorites was a solar backpack like the one in the picture that uses solar energy to recharge handheld devices like phones and music players.
