Neighborhood resident Amy Bourret, author of “Mothers and Other Liars” will have a book signing at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Borders at Preston and Royal.
Inspired by Bourret’s work as a child advocacy lawyer, the fictional story follows a mother who made a split-section decision to rescue an abandoned baby at an Oklahoma truck stop. Ten year later, after building a happy life with her new daughter, the real parents come searching for their “kidnapped” daughter.
This is the first novel for Bourret who has since stopped practicing law to focus on writing. Look for her and other local authors in a semi-monthly “writer in residence” feature in Preston Hollow Advocate.
