Middle school students at Good Shepherd Episcopal School got a closer look at prehistoric Texas Monday during a presentation by paleontologist Louis Jacobs of Southern Methodist University. He stopped by as part of the school’s Visiting Scholars & Artists program.

Jacobs explained how Texas is one of the best places to study dinosaurs since remains have been found from three different time periods in three different parts of the state.

The Visiting Scholars & Artists is a new program this year, bringing in professionals to help educate students on all kinds of fields.
