Campaign signs for mayoral candidate David Kunkle are peppered here and there throughout the Preston Hollow neighborhood, but there’s one sign in particular that has had me a little stumped.

At a residence on Forest Lane near Preston Road, two eye holes have been cut in the “Kunkle for Dallas Mayor” sign. Is it a prank?

Well, actually, it’s for wind resistance – according to a story by the folks at Pegasus News. C. P. Henry, Kunkle’s campaign manager, says that since the signs are made of corrugated plastic, they could fall over and snap in half. So, a volunteer came up with the eye-hole fix, which has also been used on previous campaign signs for Tom Leppert and Laura Miller.

Case solved.
