W.T. White and Hillcrest are included in the Washington Post‘s High School Challenge, which highlights the best public schools around the country. W.T. White ranks 271, and Hillcrest is at 598. The rankings are primarily based on student participation in the Advanced Placement courses and tests.

This is the seventh year in a row that W.T. White has received the rating, which has previously been published by Newsweek.

Nine other Dallas ISD schools made the list with two at the top: The School of Science and Engineering at the Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Center at no. 1 and the School for the Talented and Gifted at no. 2.
