Congratulations are in order for the Hillcrest High School cross country team, which won the district title for its combined teams at the District 12-4A meet Oct. 29 at Norbuck Park. Coach Venessa Warnock passed along these photos of the top athletes.
Christine Kuehmeier won first place overall in the girls division, and Manuel Morales won first place in the boys. Kuehmeier ran 2 miles in 13:30:70, and Morales ran 3 miles with a time of 18:23:29.
Several of the girls placed, too: Elizabeth Crowling, 4th place; America Mendoza-Garcia, 5th place; Jasmin Najera, 6th place; Xochiti Mendoza-Garcia, 8th place.
