It’s time for neighbors to give feedback on the 2012 bond program to find out what Preston Hollow will get out of it.

Last week, city manager Mary Suhm proposed a $600 million bond package that includes funding for “complete streets” and high-priority, on-street bike lanes in Oak Cliff and West Dallas. The largest chunk of change will go to flood control, then street repairs, and what’s left-over will be for an economic development project in South Dallas. The DMN covered the details on its City Hall blog last week.

Street repairs do include about $12 million in funding for alley reconstruction, which is definitely needed up here since so many of our homes have rear-entry garages.

There’s just one town-hall meeting scheduled in our neighborhood this time around. It combines both District 11 and 13 at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 18 at Hillcrest High School. Council members Linda Koop and Ann Margolin are expected to attend.
