Know an artistic kid that lives in Dallas? The Dallas Public Library, with nearby locations at NorthPark, Bachman Lake and Preston and Royal, is calling kids ages 2-12 to submit poetry or cover art for the 18th annual “Express Yourself!” youth poetry contest.
Now through Jan. 19, students can submit poetry online or at their local branch, which will then be published in the “Express Yourself!” poetry competition anthology in April. Finalists will be honored at a ceremony at the J. Erik Jonsson Central library on April 26.
“We love to give the young people of Dallas this platform to encourage their self-expression,” says library director Jo Giudice. “Every year we are awed by the creativity in the submissions we receive.”
The winner’s artwork will be on the front cover while four finalists will have their artwork featured on the back cover. To print a submission form and read contest details, click here.
