Give a little and help nonprofits get a lot on North Texas Giving Day, this Thursday, from 7 a.m. to midnight. Dozens of local schools and charities, including the Metroplex Animal Coalition and Winston School, will match your donation when you give $25 or more to their organization online.
Since 2009, the annual North Texas Giving Day event, which is sponsored by the Communities Foundation of Texas, has raised more than $35 million for charities in North Texas.
Also on Sept. 19, the Communities Foundation will celebrate North Texas Giving Day and its 60th Birthday onsite at Caruth Haven and South Central Expressway. From 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 8-10:30 p.m., enjoy food truck fare and enjoy a wide range of interactive entertainment such as live animals (including penguins and ponies!), dancers performing, and a spoken word performance of “Romeo and Juliet” by Shakespeare Dallas.
