NorthPark Center: Hillary Schleier

NorthPark Center is always full of hustle and bustle, but it has been quite busy lately with the opening of the new Tory Burch store and Chipotle’s addition to the food court. The development of the mall doesn’t stop there, though – more shops are headed to the neighborhood shopping mecca in the next few months.

“We’ve got a robust summer and fall planned with all kinds of new retailers coming in, so it’s a very exciting time for us,” says Kristen Gibbins, publicist for NorthPark Center.

A first for Dallas, the Tesla Motors showroom is set to open June 20. It will be the first automotive showroom to open in NorthPark, and it’s taking an interactive approach: customers will be invited to explore Tesla’s electric car technology and even configure their own Tesla in the Design Studio.

“[The Tesla showroom] is certainly getting a lot of buzz. People are becoming more aware of the environment and becoming more green, so this is going to be a big thing for Dallas,” says Gibbins.

In addition to Tesla, several other retailers will make their debut at NorthPark: Robert Graham (men’s and women’s apparel), Pho Kitchen (Vietnamese specialty restaurant), Lorna Jane (women’s activewear), and Pirch (luxury home furnishings).

“Pirch is new to the market,” says Gibbins. “It’s very cutting-edge.”

NorthPark’s beloved Apple Store will see some competition when Microsoft establishes its presence in late summer or early fall. The computer and technology company will offer a selection of its products, ranging from PCs and tablets to Windows Phones and even the Xbox One video game system.

Each retailer will be organizing an opening event tailored to each one, and Gibbins says that more information will be posted on the NorthPark Center website when it becomes available.
