One of our neighborhood schools is beginning the new year with a new principal. Dr. Dora Renaud has taken the helm of Nathan Adams Elementary.

Renaud has spent 20 years in the education field, receiving her education administration doctorate degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She has been in charge of several International Baccalaureate World Schools and has traveled abroad to South America to help students learn to read and write English.

Renaud’s worldliness doesn’t end on her resume. On her own time, she’s learning French, Italian and Bulgarian. It helps to have a Bulgarian husband who speaks multiple languages.

You can read her entire letter of introduction to the community here.

Previously, Jean McGill served as principal at Nathan Adams for 10 years before retiring in 2012.
