Several candidates running in this year’s local elections will gather in one room on April 9 to make their case during a public meeting with the Preston Hollow Democrats.

The candidates scheduled to speak include: Dr. Edwin Flores and Dr. Kyle Renard, for the District 1 seat on DISD Board of Trustees; Preston Hollow/North Dallas city council incumbents Jennifer Staubach Gates and Lee Kleinman who have no challengers this year; District 2 incumbent Adam Medrano, whose race also is uncontested; Mayor Mike Rawlings and his challenger, Marcos Ronquillo; and District 10 candidates, Paul Reyes and James White, who will send representatives due to another candidate forum on the same date.

The event will result in endorsements from the Preston Hollow Democrats. As the organization states in its meeting announcement, “Although the municipal and school board elections are non-partisan, the Preston Hollow Democrats believe that it is important to hear and consider each candidate, and to encourage its members, guests and all voters to participate and vote in these elections.”

The event is 6-7:45 p.m. April 9 in the Preston Royal Library auditorium. Early voting is April 27-May 5, and the election is May 9.
