Ready for the summer season of outdoor screenings? There are two (now) one family friendly movie to see this Friday, June 3.

Over at the Northaven Trail, “Frozen” has been canceled on June 3 due to weather concerns. The screening has been rescheduled for Firday, June 10. The evening, hosted by the Friends of the Northaven Trail, begins at 7 p.m. with pizza from Urban Crust, or bring your own picnic basket. The movie will play at dusk. The screening takes place on the trail near 10937 Edgemere, unless it rains. Check the Friends’ Facebook page to see if the screening is canceled before you head out to the trail.

Over at the Shops at Park Lane, the 1992 beloved “Beethoven” can be seen on the lawn. The story about a mischievous St. Bernard is suitable for all ages and kicks off the June Friday night movie series. For the pooch-filled occasion, DFW Rescue Me will be on site with some adoptable dogs in their kissing booth, where patrons can snap a photo with the canines. Alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the surrounding restaurants. Mark your calendars for more films, including “Finding Nemo” June 10, “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” June 17 and “Clueless” June 24.

‘Pinklicious’ from the Dallas Children’s Theater.

On Saturday, June 4, catch a sneak peak of the upcoming Dallas Children’s Theater showcase, “Pinkalicious” at the NorthPark Center. It’s the story of little girl so obsessed with the color pink, she eats so many pink sweet treats and comes down with a case of pinkitis. See the show at 2 p.m. in the NorthCourt of the mall before it opens at the neighboring theater June 17.

The Mayor’s Summer Reading Club kicks off with a party from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, June 5. Captain America and Bender the Balloon Man will be there, plus face painters and snacks. Other reading club events this month include a visit from a Dallas Fire Department engine at 2 p.m. June 6; three-dimensional creations at 2 p.m. June 20; and a solar observation at 2 p.m. June 23.
