Home tour: Modern fundraising

The neighborhood’s most interesting mid-century modern homes are under the spotlight every October when owners are asked to open their doors for a good cause. The Modern Mile Home Tour, which marked its third year, is a fundraiser for Walnut Hill Elementary School. This year, the tour brought in more than $45,000 for the local public school, which will go toward program and facility improvements. Funds raised for the school in the first two years paid for the new courtyard (pictured above) that was previously inaccessible to handicapped children. The tour highlights many of Preston Hollow’s architectural gems, which celebrate unusual design and craftsmanship.
