It’s official––the location for  The Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas is set in stone. For its month-long show, Kips Bay has selected a Provence-inspired estate at 5828 Woodland Drive in the historic Woodland Estate neighborhood of Old Preston Hollow, PaperCity reported.

A committee selected 20 designers to join Kips Bay in Dallas and will announce the official list soon, the publication said. Once designers accept their room assignments, they have 12 weeks to finish the home’s transformation. The designers come from Dallas, cities in Texas, and other major cities across the nation.

Expected to attract national press and thousands of visitors to Dallas, this show house is co-chaired by Christopher Peacock and Jan Showers, with vice-chairs Jean Liu and Chad Dorsey, and Veranda editor-in-chief Steele Marcoux as honorary chair.

Opening night is Thursday, September 24 during Texas Design Week Dallas (September 21 to 25). After that, the house will remain open to the public September 25 through October 25. House tours will benefit a multitude of nonprofits such as the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club, which gives young people educational and developmental opportunities in New York City. Others include Dallas-based Dwell with Dignity and The Crystal Charity Ball.

Founded in 1973, The Kips Bay Decorator Show House started as a fundraiser to benefit the Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club in New York. Now, each year, Kips Bay recruits dozens of the most renowned architects and designers to transform a townhouse on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. All the big names have participated in the last 47 years: Sister Parish, Mark Hampton, McMillen Inc., David Easton, Albert Hadley, Irvine & Fleming, and Mario Buatta.

Over 15,000 visitors visit the Manhattan show house every May, and Kips Bay has raised over $25 million for its organization. Three years ago, Kips Bay added an annual Palm Beach show house, and has now begun their third annual plan in Dallas.

Because of COVID-19, the Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas plans to conduct health screenings for every staff member and implement other sanitation and safety measures to meet proper social distancing guidelines.

Kips Bay Boys & Girls Club and the Dallas show house will be honored at the PaperCity Design Awards on Sunday, September 21 at Virgin Hotels Dallas.

The Kips Bay Decorator Show House Dallas opening night tickets (September 24) are $250, and show house tickets (September 25 to October 25) are $40. Purchase tickets here.
