Preston Hollow neighbor and retired Dallas Mavericks player Dirk Nowitzki is having a very merry Christmas this year.

On Christmas Day, his sculpture will be unveiled outside the American Airlines Center on the South Plaza.

The statue, sculpted by Omri Amrany, will be unveiled just before the Mavericks game starts inside the center.

This isn’t all Nowitzki has to celebrate, either. He was named a Hall of Fame candidate earlier this week. In October, we also reported DFW Airport is opening a restaurant in his name soon.

From the 2004-05 to 2016-17 seasons, Nowitzki was the only international player to crack the top five of NBA players, according to the NBA. He also scored the Mavericks’ first championship during his career.
