Restaurant owner Lynae Fearing is holding a bone marrow drive for her son, Campbell, at Lovers Seafood and Market this Sunday.

In an Instagram reel, Fearing made the announcement that Campbell is fighting leukemia at Presbyterian Hospital. He’s been living at the hospital undergoing a second round of chemotherapy.

“It’s very easy, just a cheek swab is all it takes,” said Campbell in the video.

It used to be a more difficult procedure for the donor to go through, but now it’s a simpler process, according to Fearing.

“It’s a way for us to give back, and it’s a way for other people to give back,” said Fearing. “You can actually save somebody’s life, it’s super easy. It’s basically like giving blood.”

The family is seeking help from neighbors between the ages 18-55 who are in good health and may be a donor match.

The donor drive will be held from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Jan. 22 at 5200 W. Lovers Lane.
