Father Greg Boyle

St. Mary of Carmel Catholic School will host an evening with Father Greg Boyle at Preston Hollow’s Jesuit Dallas on March 9.

Boyle is the founder of Homeboy Industries, the largest gang rehabilitation and re-entry program in the world. The event will support of St. Mary of Carmel Catholic School, which is located in West Dallas.

Homeboy Industries is based in Los Angeles, and its influence has since expanded through the Global Homeboy Network to more than 250 organizations across the country. Homeboy Industries was also the recipient of the Hilton Humanitarian Prize in 2020.

In addition to his work with gang intervention and rehabilitation, Boyle is also the author of several books, including Tattoos on the Heart: The Power of Boundless Compassion and The Whole Language: The Power of Extravagant Tenderness. 

President Obama named Boyle a “Champion of Change” in 2014, and he received the University of Notre 2017 Laetare Medal, the oldest honor given to American Catholics.
