A familiar tradition is returning to NorthPark Center.

From July 14-30, the 28th annual Dallas CASA Parade of Playhouses will commence at NorthPark Center. Built and designed by various organizations and individuals, playhouses can be won by visitors with the purchase of a raffle ticket. All proceeds benefit Dallas CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), as the organization looks to advance its mission of protecting abused and neglected children.

“NorthPark Center is pleased to be a longtime host partner for Dallas CASA’s Parade of Playhouses, raising important funds for the organization’s mission of keeping children in our community safe,” said NorthPark’s Director of Marketing Kristen Gibbins in a statement. “For more than 25 years, these whimsical playhouse creations have brought joy and delight to all who come across them, and we look forward to their return each summer.”

Playhouse builders and architects include Highland Park High School and the Dallas Mavericks. With 14 planned playhouses, designs currently include a Dallas Mavericks player’s shoe, a hobbit house, a movie theater complete with a ticket booth, a NASA spaceship and more.

“Every year, we are delighted and amazed by the wonderful creativity found in these playhouses,” said Kathleen M. LaValle, president and CEO of Dallas CASA in a release. “But what really impresses me is that every designer, builder and craftsperson is donating their time and energy to benefit children in foster care. They understand and support our mission.”

For a chance to win a playhouse, visitors can purchase a single raffle ticket for $5, or 5 for $20. Tickets can be purchased at NorthPark or online. Raffle winners will be announced after a drawing on the last day of the event, July 30.

Dallas CASA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit social service agency which provides judge-appointed, volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children in the custody of the state. Proceeds from the Parade of Playhouses help Dallas CASA provide more advocates in an overwhelmed childcare system.
