The Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field Airport is celebrating Moon Day with activities, exhibits and more later this month.

Moon Day is the anniversary of the landing of Apollo 11, the space flight that first put humans on the moon in 1969. This will be the 15th Moon Day event the museum has hosted.

The full-day event will have something for the whole family, from space-themed exhibits to opportunities for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to earn badges. NASA astronaut Shane Kimbrough will serve as the keynote speaker for the event.

Kimbrough completed his first space flight in 2008 and did two spacewalks on his first mission. He is the fourth person to fly on three space craft and the fifth for time spent in space with 388 days total.

Moon Day will be held from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Frontiers of Flight Museum on Saturday, July 22. The museum is located at 6911 Lemmon Avenue.
