Galleria Dallas has combined the state sales tax weekend with back-to-school shopping to provide shoppers with maximum savings.

According to the 2023 National Retail Federation survey, it’s predicted households to spend a record high of $890 on back-to-school shopping and $1,367 on young adults going to college.

During the tax holiday weekend of August 11-13, shoppers will be exempted from state sales tax and can find school supplies under $100. In addition to the tax-free weekend, Galleria Dallas has offered special promotions and discounts from most retailers. Along with the Tax-Free weekend, the center has lined up a series of activities, and select stores will participate in giveaways for the first 100 customers.

Galleria Dallas’ fashion and lifestyle director, Holly Quartaro, shared shopping tips for the tax-free weekend. Quartaro recommends bright colors inspired by the new Barbie movie and oversized jackets for a relaxed and loose fit. Galleria Dallas has also provided resources for fashion trends that align with dress code notes by district and spending data and trends.

The lineup of activities at Galleria Dallas for the sales tax weekend includes:

Best in Class photos: A back-to-school-themed art wall could be the perfect backdrop during any shopping venture from Friday to Sunday, 12 – 4 p.m. A photo booth will be available for professional-quality photos.

DJ K-Sprinkles: Award-winning DJ K-Sprinkles will have her booth set up near the photo booth, playing mixes of top hit songs.

Broadway Dallas Performance: On Saturday at 11 a.m., Broadway Dallas will present a complimentary performance to benefit their “Give A Kid A Seat” initiative.
