Preston Hollow’s Cooper Clinic announced today the reception of a NAEOTOM Alpha® with Quantum Technology CT Scanner to the clinic, the second of this device in the state and one of 50 in the nation.
“We are delighted to add the groundbreaking technology of the NAEOTOM Alpha CT Scanner to our exam,” said Camron Nelson, president and Chief Executive Officer of Cooper Clinic. “This next-generation scanner allows our radiologists to view sharper images to detect early disease with less radiation exposure.”
According to a news release, the NAEOTOM Alpha is the world’s first photon-counting CT, which generates highly detailed images.
The CT’s detector converts X-ray photons into electric signals without information loss.
“With the introduction of NAEOTOM Alpha, we are taking a huge step in furthering patient care in a wide range of clinical domains by effectively showing things not seen before with conventional CT scans. This required a radical rethinking of practically every technological aspect of computed tomography,” said Matthew Dedman, vice president of computed tomography at Siemens Healthineers North America.
The scan is now part of Cooper Clinic’s preventive medical exam, which includes a skin cancer screening, a medical exam and counseling, laboratory work and analysis, cardiovascular screening, a dual source CT scan and nutrition coaching.
Cooper Clinic is located at 12200 Preston Road.
