A Preston Hollow resident found a feathered friend enjoying her saltwater pool yesterday, and commenters are loving it. Neighbors on Nextdoor.com identified the bird as a juvenile yellow-crested night heron.
The heron stopped by the pool for a sip of saltwater and a flying break.
Multiple people have reported seeing heron bird nests throughout the neighborhood. One commenter said that one visits her pool often, while another recently had a nest in her front yard.
“We had a nest with three hatchlings in the tree above our driveway on Brookshire with three juveniles this spring,” the commenter said.
