Patricia VermillionPreston Hollow resident Patricia Vermillion is the librarian at The Lamplighter School and, lucky for her students, she’s also a published children’s book author.

Her book, “Texas Chili? Oh My!”, recently received a 2015 citation from the the San Antonio Conservation Society’s Publications Awards Committee. The society’s president  Sue Ann Pemberton noted, “our sincere appreciation for a work which furthers the purpose of the Conservation Society: to preserve Texas History and to educate the public with knowledge of our inherited values.”

Vermillion will received a framed certificate at an awards ceremony and book signing in San Antonio on March 20.

Her next book, due out next year, is “Hound Dawg!”, a Southern version of “The Little Red Hen.”
