The Covenant School in our neighborhood fired its girls basketball coach Micah Grimes after his team to beat Dallas Academy’s team 100-0.
Grimes, who took the basketball team from a 2-19 record to having a shot at a state championship, says he disagrees with the decision. He posted a statement on a youth basketball Web site saying his team "played the game as it was meant to be played and would not intentionally run up the score on any opponent."
School officials, however, posted a statement on the Covenant website saying Grimes’ behavior "does not reflect a Christ-like and honorable approach to competition."
