When it comes to dining, I’m always up for a good buffet. Not because I’m a glutton—I just appreciate variety.

The lunch buffet at Taj Mahal isn’t extensive by any means, but it certainly does offer a good range of Indian fare—and at less than $10, it’s a good deal. On the day I stopped in, there were about seven entrees, salad, rice, and a couple of desserts.

I sampled the chicken tikka masala, barbecued chicken in a creamy tomato-based sauce—and a tandoori fish dish, seasoned chunks of fish, which pared nicely with some basmati rice. I finished up with the kheer badami, a creamy sweet rice pudding with raisins and nuts.

If you’re up for something a little different, and you appreciate a good deal, this place is defiantly worth keeping on your lunchtime radar.
