There they are, folks. My three EarthKind rose bushes…well, they’ll be bushes one day.

If you remember, I recently wrote about the Dallas County Master Gardeners rose sale fundraiser. Afterwards, I decided to try my hand at rose cultivating, and I, along with other eager gardeners and would-be gardeners, picked up our roses Wednesday and Thursday.

I’ve never been much of a gardener or outdoors-type. I didn’t mow my first lawn until after I graduated college, so this may be a stretch for my skill level.

But according to the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension in Far North Dallas, these EarthKind roses are bred to tolerate hot summers and minimal water.

If I play my cards right, my small buckets of roses should grow into a red "Knockout," a pink "Marie Daly," and a white "Seafoam."

Wish me luck.
