Last week, District 13 city council candidate Ann Margolin did some digging and found out her opponent, tax consultant Brint Ryan, had an IRS lien put on his home for some outstanding taxes.

Ryan said the lien was a result of a tax dispute with the IRS, and it was lifted after the dispute was resolved, which included the IRS refunding Ryan some of the funds in question. Then Ryan did some digging on his own and found out the IRS currently has a lien on Margolin’s husband over some business taxes.

Ryan and his lawyers sent the Margolin camp a letter demanding she apologize for what he said are misrepresentations of the truth and defamatory statements or he would sue her.

Margolin’s answer? Bring it.

According to Dave Levinthal at the DMN, Margolin said the truth’s on her side and she won’t recant.
