DISD’s high TAKS scores set new record

DISD has set a new record with its high TAKS scores, according to rankings released by the Texas State Education Agency.

Forty-five schools earned an Exemplary status, the highest state rating. That number has more than tripled in the past two years.

Eighty-three schools earned a Recognized status, the second-highest state ranking. That’s more than doubled in the past two year.

Several of those outstanding schools are here in our neighborhood. Exemplary schools in our neighborhood include:
Arthur Kramer Elementary
Harry Withers Elementary
Nathan Adams Elementary

And Recognized Schools in our neighborhood include:
Ewell D. Walker Middle School
Thomas C. Marsh Middle School
Tom C. Gooch Elementary
Preston Hollow Elementary
Walnut Hill Elementary

Congratulations to all the parents, teachers, and staff who helped the kids earn those high scores. I’m sure there are a whole lot of rightfully-proud neighbors out there today.
