Take a good look at this picture: This is what a good sport looks like. E.D. Walker Middle School principal Brian Lusk colored his hair green, yellow and pink after his students collected 290 pairs of shoes for The Shoe Bank, surpassing the goal of 250 pairs.

Seeing this, I can’t help but remember W.T. White principal Orlando Riddick and Hillcrest principal Ronald Jones, two more good sports who each had their painted during this year’s homecoming rivalry.

E. D. Walker students are now collecting canned food for The North Texas Food Bank, which is in dire need of donations. So far they have collected more than 300 food items. Collection of food items will run through Friday, Dec. 11. If you’d like to help, you can drop off and donations at the school office.
