… at Marnie Rocks, 8413 Preston Center Plaza, a boutique that carries an eclectic mix of jewelry, soy candles, funky handbags and whimsical-print baby bedding. The store works with Marnie Rocks Beading Cancer, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of children in outpatient care at Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. Every week, employees and fans of the store volunteer their time at the hospital, crafting jewelry with the young cancer patients.

Eat a meal …
… at Sonny Bryan’s, Preston and Forest or Lovers and the Tollway, on Saturday, Feb. 13. That’s when the barbecue restaurant will be celebrating its 100th anniversary with $2.50 sandwich specials — and all proceeds will benefit The First Tee of Dallas, a nonprofit helping youth develop through golf. To achieve its mission, the nonprofit conducts an extended program for kids, and Sonny Bryan’s has committed to donating a minimum of 100 scholarships.
