The Catholic Foundation, based in Preston Hollow, has announced its fifth annual Catholic Foundation Plaza Artists Competition, and the entry deadline is Sept. 2.

Members from the local arts community will judge the work, and the winner will receive a $2,500 stipend and have the artwork displayed on a 28-foot-by-9-foot wall in the foundation’s plaza in the Dallas Arts District. The work will stay up for one year, beginning in October. Artists with honorable mention will receive $250.

The plaza is a 3,900 square-foot space that was donated to the city by the Catholic Foundation in 2006. Right now, the area displays last year’s winning piece, “Music on Parade,” by David Zvanut.
