I noticed the Rachofsky House almost immediately after I arrived here in May – that stunning, architectural gem nestled right near the bustling intersection of Preston and Northwest Highway. And I wasted no time getting in on the next tour.
Back in December, the local indie pop duo Smile, Smile shot a music video at the house, which popped up on the Observer blog yesterday, and I thought I’d pass it along. Aside from the great performance by Ryan Hamilton and Jencey Hirunrusme, the video offers some spectacular views of the house, inside and out, plus some cameos by Dallas luminaries.
On another note, there’s a new exhibit opening there Monday, the Dallas Urban Laboratory from researchers at UT Austin. It will take an interesting look at the future of urban design and planning in Dallas.
