More than 750 local retailers will participate in the Partners Card program, raising money for our neighborhood nonprofit, The Family Place. Here’s how it works:
Buy a Partners Card for $60, and 100 percent of proceeds go straight to The Family Place. You can find through the organization’s website. The card gives you a 20 percent discount at participating retailers and restaurants Oct. 29-Nov. 7.
The Family Place supports victims of domestic violence in Dallas, providing emergency shelter, counseling and transitional housing for those looking to start over. The nonprofit also operates a resale shop at Forest and Marsh. The Partners Card program began in 1993 and has become the largest fundraiser for the organization. Buying one card provides three weeks worth of infant diapers and one night of shelter for a woman and her child.
