Our neighborhood Homecoming celebrations are just around the corner, and here’s what’s going down at W.T. White and Hillcrest:

The Longhorns have already started showing their spirit by dressing up this week for themed days like past/future, beauties/geeks and heroes/villains. With the theme, “Let the Good Times Roll,” the Homecoming parade begins at 4 p.m. Thursday at W.T. White, proceeding from Rickover to Welch and Ridgeside to Crestline. There’s $2 hot dogs, $1 drinks and $3 sno cones. The game starts at 7 p.m. against Sunset High School at Loos Stadium.

The Panthers will have their Homecoming parade at 5 p.m. Oct. 29 at the school with the theme, “Candyland.” Neighboring elementary schools will have fun building their floats for that one. And there just might be a few surprise guests hanging around. Hillcrest will play Conrad High School at 7:30 that night at Franklin Stadium.
