Dallas ISD announced its five finalists for the 2011-12 Teacher Assistant of the Year, including Shirley Whaley of Hillcrest High School in the Secondary Learning Community category.
The Teacher Assistant of the Year program recognizes contributions by teacher assistants. They were selected by a committee comprised of representatives from professional development, special education, PTA, Dallas Teen School Board, support employee organizations, community partners, teachers and central administrators.
The winner will be announced at an awards program May 16 at the Women’s Museum at Fair Park.
