Six college students from Preston Hollow completed the ExxonMobil Summer Jobs Program, which provides students with paid internships at local nonprofits.

Sixty students were chosen for the eight-week program run by the Volunteer Center of North Texas. Participants also attended career seminars and helped lead a community service project for the Creative Arts Center of Dallas.

The neighborhood students and their nonprofits were: Skylar Evans, Ability Connection Texas; Jane Gilmore, Retina Foundation of the Southwest; Carla Johnson, Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star; Elizabeth Law, The da Vinci School; Mary Murphy, New Friends New Life; and Danica Salazar, Junior Players.

More than 1,535 students and 300 Dallas nonprofits have benefited from the program with ExxonMobil contributing $17.3 million to fund the internships nationally.
