Our December cover story offers a few ideas for how to support neighborhood businesses while giving back to worthy causes this holiday season. ‘Tis the season for holiday bazaars, too, and we can’t get enough of them. You never know what kind of treasures you’ll find from neighborhood vendors.

There are two sales coming up:

1) Hot Mama apron-maker Jen Rosie Designs, which we featured in the magazine last year, is hosting a Holiday Bazaar 6-9 p.m. Thursday at 4042 Hockaday Drive. The sale feature other local business owners, including Kelly Wilson Antiques, Mary Kay Cosmetics and Darcie Dehaven Candles. There’s also wine, appetizers and chair massages by Kenneth Roberts from the YMCA.

2) Sparkman Club Estates hosts its annual Holiday Bazaar Dec. 5 at the Sparkman Clubhouse with appetizers and desserts. The event features scores of local vendors, including the Marsh Middle School PTA which will sell casseroles from S&S Catering.
