Preston Hollow Elementary hosts a Family Fun Night 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, featuring carnival games, a cakewalk, a DJ, a silent auction and a raffle for $2 per ticket. All proceeds benefit the school.

Don’t forget about Marsh Middle School’s 50th anniversary celebration this Saturday, featuring a 5k run and 1-mile fun run beginning at 8:30 a.m. Register for the races here. The carnival kicks off at 10 a.m. with games, food, local vendors and a raffle. There’s a Marsh vs. Medrano softball game at 11 a.m. You can catch performances by the Marsh choir and drama department 10 a.m.-noon, and live music by alumnus Ben Higginbotham at noon. A teachers vs. students soccer game is at 1 p.m. alongside a show by Psycho Sonics, which includes Marsh alumni who won the Deep Ellum Battle of the Bands last week. Finally, an all-class reunion takes place at 7 p.m. that night at El Fenix at Forest and Webb Chapel.

The Dallas International Film Festival hosts a family day 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday in the CenterPark Garden at NorthPark Center. The carnival-style event features live performances, educational art projects and a free outdoor screening of “E.T.” at sunset.
