District 13 councilwoman Ann Margolin told KERA she received no response from the city Code Department or the County Judge when citizens inquired about West Nile Virus area spraying.

Margolin told reporter BJ Austin, “I had some extremely frustrated neighborhoods who wanted to be sprayed,” she said. “And they were asking me how can I get sprayed. And it was like hitting my head against a wall.”

The councilwoman also told WFAA reporter Brad Watson that residents with homes along creeks requests for ground spraying didn’t pan out.

“I tried Code; I tried calling the county judge; and I got no response, so I had nothing to bring back to my communities,” Margolin said in the interview.

She said the city manager did apologize.

Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings hopes to get a preliminary assessment from CDC by the end of the week, but the full report won’t be available until November.
