We made this photo of Anne Pullan’s awesome agility-dog, Tiva, using two flashes fired off-camera through a soft box and a photo umbrella. I manually metered for the sky and lit the foreground with strobes. By doing so, you too can create dynamic shots that your camera can’t do on its own.
The next time you’re out shooting, try getting your flash off-camera to make those photos sing. It takes some practice, but the results are worth it.
