Americana singer/songwriter Rod Picott will bring his Welding Burns Tour to Uncle Calvin’s when he opens for folksinger Amy Speace 8 p.m. April 5. East Nashville based, singer-songwriter Amy Speace brings her How To Sleep In A Stormy Boat Tour as the opening act following Picott. Speace will perform at 8 p.m.

The Business Council for the Arts and NorthPark Center will host the 4th annual ARTsPARK noon to 4 p.m. April 6. Cultural organizations from across the Metroplex will team up to introduce the concept of everyday art, special performances will take place and attendees will learn how to pick up a new craft.

The Frontiers of Flight Museum will transform into the 60’s era when bouffant hairdos, afros, mini-skirts and go-go boots along with the AIDS Services of Dallas. The 7 p.m. event is the AIDS services eighth annual No Tie Dinner and Dessert Party, themed “Desserts a Go-Go,” on April 6. This is the largest fundraiser for AIDS Services of Dallas which provides housing and supportive services for low-income and formerly homeless men, women, children, and families living with HIV/AIDS.
