The 2013 Spring Modern Home Tour will feature “modern living in every aspect” for those self-described modernistas. The self-guided driving tour is from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. May 11 and will feature Preston Hollow homes at 5544 Waneta Drive and 6607 Desco. Tickets and more information can be found here. Celebrate Chinese arts and culture noon – 6:00 p.m. May 11 at NorthPark Center‘s NorthCourt. Families can celebrate Chinese Folk Art Week as Chinese folk art experts share their ancient traditions. You can also make crafts, watch performances featuring the Shadow Puppets and listen to Mandarin and English story-telling.

Southwest Gallery presents its premiere exhibit “The Best of Moldova,” where Moldovan artists depict works of their landlocked country between Romania to the west and Ukraine. The event will feature works from photorealistic painter Vladimir Sorin, photorealist and surrealist Oleg Turchin, and surrealist Valeriu Buev from 1-5 May 11.

It’ll be good to be “A Face in the Crowd” at 8 p.m. May 11 at the Meyerson Symphony Center where tribute band Full Moon Fever, conductor Thomas Hong  and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra will capture the essence of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. They’ll perform Petty hits like “Free Fallin” and “Into the Great Wide Open.”
