You know the saying that “you can’t really understand what another person’s experience is until you’ve walked in their shoes”?
Well, the Dallas County Sexual Assualt Coalition (DCSAC) is definitely giving the saying a unique spin for their “Walk A Mile in Her Shoes” event on Sept. 28, 9 a.m.-noon, at the Diamond Doctor showroom in Preston Center.
Men, women and children are all invited to raise awareness about sexual violence by strutting in high heels for a mile around the Preston Center for the event. Funds raised will benefit DCSAC programs that improve services for survivors of sexual assault and promotes public awareness for prevention of sexual violence.
Plus, who doesn’t love playing dress up in sky high heels and seeing grown men strutting around in patent leather heals? Also new to the event this year is the free stiletto decorating contest, with cash prizes for winners.
Registration is from 8:309:35 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28. Cost is $40 per male walker, $120 for a team of four men, and $30 for women and children under 14.
